Our Vision

Germany is debating innovation. About AI. About technological sovereignty. About resilience. About tight budgets. About the debt brake. About the skilled-worker shortage. About scarce raw materials. About regionalisation – about “Where are we actually heading?”

What is often overlooked: Innovation needs more than software. Innovation needs access to hardware, laboratories, test rigs, and technology infrastructure. And this is exactly where Germany has enormous leverage. Because a large part of this infrastructure already exists: at universities, research institutes, clusters, technology centres, and in companies.

The problem is rarely a lack of infrastructure. The problem is often: too little visibility, access that is too complicated, too little networking, too much decentralisation, too low utilisation.

SciPort makes exactly this addressable. We are building a marketplace for research, testing, and technology infrastructure – so that existing capacities can be used more efficiently: within regions, between federal states, and ultimately across Germany and Europe.

Why now? Because public funding alone will not be enough. Because AI makes software easily accessible to everyone, and differentiation lies in hardware. Because sovereignty does not work without access to technology and testing capacities. Because we must make better use of existing resources before building everything from scratch.

SciPort stands for more efficient use instead of parallel build-up. For faster access instead of opaqueness. For more transfer, more utilisation, and more impact from infrastructure that already exists. We think from Germany outward. But the logic behind it is international.

About Us

SciPort is the Airbnb for Research Services.

We connect research institutions with companies, start-ups, and researchers who need specialised measurement, testing, analysis, and technology services.

Our platform makes research infrastructure and technological expertise visible, increases the utilisation of existing capacities, and simplifies access to specialised methods and know-how. This turns scattered infrastructure into an accessible marketplace for Research Services.

More visibility. More utilisation. More innovation.

We will go live in summer 2026.
